Jan and Ina from Jamanasin Lodge would like to assist you with an outdoor program during your stay on the Peninsula Osa. They made a list, chosen out many more possibilities, of excursions/hikes. Some of them are with a local guide (English spoken).
National Park Corcovado; according to National Geographic the forest in Corcovado are among the rarest and most biologically diverse on our planet. In this beautiful park you can take multi day hiking trips. Because there is less space at the ranger stations reservation is recommended. In this park there are seen 400 species of birds, 140 species of mammals and 120 species of reptiles and amphibians. There are also 500 species of trees and 6.000 species of insects. Bird watching and observing this beautiful rainforest gives you the opportunity to feel one with nature.

Dolphins Tour; Departure at 7 a.m. Approximate duration 4 to 5 hours. We get on a boat which will carry you through the majestic Sweet Gulf. With some luck, the dolphins living in the Sweet Gulf might be seen. Here we guarantee the most breathtaking views of the mountains and nature that surrounds the entire gulf. You can visit paradise like beaches. This tour includes a travel to the famous White Beach (Playa Blanca) where it is guaranteed that you will be able to see Scarlet Macaws. A snack is also included. This tour’s price is $100 for two or three people, additional visitors pay $ 20 each.

Beaches; Nearby Jamanasin Lodge are several beautiful beaches where you can go swimming, surfing or just enjoy the sun and the sea.
Fishing Tour; Departure at 7 a.m. Approximate duration time 6 hours Fishing in the Sweet Gulf at the mangrove swamps from Esquinas River. You can catch a great variety of fishes and at the same time enjoy the beautiful scenery of the region with appreciation of the great diversity of nature. It includes a snack.This tours costs $50 per person.

Sportfishing
Tour to Campos Espinosa Family’s Estate;Approximate duration time 5 hour. Departure at 7 a.m. In this property we can appreciate a bird habitat and fish hatchery. We will see a herd of cattle gazing, without stables, the most natural organic feeding. You will ride on horse trails surrounding a primary forest. With some luck, you can also observe animals dwelling in this forest such as monkeys, toucans, “pisotes”, frogs, and a great variation of wild birds and a 25 meter waterfall, all this tour will be done on horseback. It includes a snack.This tours costs $25 per person
Chocolate; At a distance of 15 miles from our Lodge you can partake in a chocolate tour. During this tour you hike through primary forest to get by the cacao trees. The owner/guide will tell you everything tou want to know about the question, how is chocolate created? At the end of the tour, wich will be about 3 hours, a tropical surprise is waiting for you. Reservations for this tour are recommended.
